Alfredo I. Cortez Jr. has been pastoring churches since 1990. He was involved initially with the Baptist General Conference with churches that had a particular interest in Filipino-Americans in the United States. In 1999 he founded Church of Hope and has been pastor ever since. The church was officially incorporated in 2001 and is recognized by the State of California. He recently founded the Hope Bible Institute which is under the oversight of Church of Hope. His educational background includes a graduate diploma from the Institute of Biblical studies and an undergraduate degree from Andersonville Theological Seminary where he received a Bachelor of Religious Education with honors (Cum Laude). ATS officially ordained him as a Baptist minister after recognizing his doctrinal stance. Earlier this year 2003, he completed a Master’s degree in Biblical Studies through Tyndale Theological Seminary and graduated with highest honors (Summa Cum Laude). He is currently working on a Th.M (Masters of Theology) track from Chafer Theological Seminary and a D.Min (Doctorate of Ministry) track from Tyndale Theological Seminary. Tyndale Seminary awarded him a full scholarship for the doctoral program. He volunteers his time as a Bible instructor with an online Baptist Bible Institute. He is happily married to his beautiful wife Corinthia Cortez, and they are blessed with two girls by the names of Alexandria Danielle Cortez, and Emily Elizabeth Cortez. |
